Both families brave the cold

With kids home, it snows
They transformed before my eyes
Now shift shovelers

Liking this work break
Fittering around the house
In jammies all day

I walk past my tasks
Declare this my “want to” day
To reclaim some verve

After years racing
We slowed down the Christmas clock
And let the day flow

Night before Christmas
Work is done, now we relax
And savor this time

Our fave restaurant
Bookstore and Christmas movies
The other days scowl

We sneak and hide gifts
Walking through bookstore aisles
Hush until Christmas
