I don’t write haiku
I merely write seventeen
Syllables a day
Minneapolis
Is where I live and I breathe
Lake air in Uptown
With two kids, two cats
And with my hubby, Adam
We get through our days
Someday I will tire
Of the haiku and will veer
In new directions
For now, I will write
Each day and flinch when I post
Just know that I try
