Emmys and Iowa paused
Our screen turned to carts

Yes, it’s all of us

Friday goes quiet
The work checkmarks are in place
Alarms are turned off

Thursday is too close
To my heightened weekend hopes

Work and home edits
All-day relay race with words

We were all prepared
