Launches rain pellets at us
Next lemon vista

In winter we think
Summer is mid-seventies
Not scorching nineties

With rabid envy
I glare at the teenager
Flipping day and night

Work burnout brewing
College tours road trip now ditched
Replaced by backyard
 

Friends at a distance
Across the yard catching up
Covid protocol

Parents have alarms
Kids beholden to no clock
Why not sleep til three?
