Work Antidote

I was chained to work
Tasks looped around in my thoughts
My iPod led me

Clock Tricks

It was 4 o’clock
Then it was 8. I drove past
The closed ramp, time slowed.

Ants

I wonder if ants
Have unproductive work days.
Is there any guilt?

Monday

I fell into work
And treaded water all day
Until I went home

Ikea

Rooms of furniture
To try on and imagine
Ideas ushered home

Cloudy Day

The grey sky held back
The sun’s vicious fire laugh
If just for a day

July in August

The well-known sizzle
A hummid, sweaty summer
Pushed back the fall day

All You Can Eat

Our stories were shared
Over mounds of Chinese food
The clock made us leave

Back to School

Decorated rooms
Welcome the kids and their stuff
School work is lurking

Space

We return to home
The house feels small and awkward
We search for corners
